The Story

My Name WAS Peter follows the stories of members of the LGBTQ+ community as they suffered through what is known commonly as the “gay holocaust“. In the years leading up to World War II, the hatred that poured from Adolf Hitler and his associates was pointed at the LGBTQ+ communities in Germany, Russia, and other countries. The tragedies that had long-term effects on these communities continue to impact their existence today. Their stories of suffering, triumph, and teamwork are omitted from history, but we refuse to forget. Thanks to My Name WAS Peter and its creators, people can see these gruesome truths.

The Creator

Matthew Bryant Roberts was born in a very small English town, Cambridge OH. Matthew comes from the first Southern Families of the South, a descendant of Robert E. Lee.

Matthew Bryant Roberts has written acclaimed Pilots and Screen Plays; such as “Nephel The Fallen”, “Bayou”, “When Autumn Leaves Fall” Feature Film and Between The Veils; a Psychological Thriller that has gained high esteem amongst the Hollywood elite.

Matthew has studied, in depth with renowned personal trainer Lynn Pearson of New York and New Orleans, LA. He continued to study Meisner Technique along with other techniques of a period of 12 years in cities of New Orleans, New York, San Francisco. Matthew said fond farewell to the U.S. when he moved to Vancouver, BC to work in the North American Film and Stage industry. There he met and began studying with well known actor and mentor Shea Hampton, Acting From Source.

While Matthew had traveled he had worked for Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Madonna, Whitney Houston/Nippy Productions with Bobby Brown and Donna Houston and Tommy Brown, Reba McIntyre, Hootie and the Blow Fish, Michael J. Fox Productions, Paramount Studios, Universal Studios.
